Publishing Questions

How can I publish my book?
There are three approaches. It depends on how much time you want to devote to the project.
  1. We will write and publish your book in-house and use our resources.

  2. In addition to writing and editing for you, we will “shepherd” you through the entire publishing process, if you wish to self publish. We will offer suggestions for cover artists, typesetters and printers and help demystify the publishing world lingo and jargon.

  3. We write for you and you hire an agent to secure a publisher for your book.

How do you want me to submit my ideas, current manuscript, article, etc?
You may submit your work as an email attachment in a simple Word doc file. We do not accept manuscripts on paper only. All paper must be accompanied by email versions. All of our changes will be returned to you via an email word doc.
If your project has special formatting needs, we will discuss and determine those with you under a separate evaluation.

What are your turnaround times?
Turnaround times will be addressed based on your needs and our current schedule. You will be given those dates and times in writing prior to acceptance of the project.  We value promptness and will meet our deadlines at all times.

Who decides on the changes to a manuscript?
As the author, you have the final say about any changes to your manuscript. It is your decision to accept or reject our findings and suggestions. Ultimately it is your work, and you should be 100 percent happy with your finished piece. Due to the subjective nature of the art of writing, we do not guarantee your agreement with our suggestions.

Who is responsible for checking the facts and copyright issues?
As the named author, you are responsible for fact checking, copyright, compliance and legal issues. However, we will attempt to bring potential situations to your attention as we work on your manuscript.

How are your services priced?
Due to the variables involved, our services are priced per word, per hour, per page or per submission, depending on the project.  If by page, we assume that “one page” is two hundred and fifty words. You will be given a firm quote prior to acceptance.

Do you guarantee that my work will sell or be accepted by my intended audience?
While we will do everything we can to assist you in producing a quality product, we cannot guarantee that your work will be published or sell. We are not literary agents.

Do you promote my work once it is complete?
Yes and No. We will showcase your book on our website.  But ultimately it is your responsibility to promote your book in a manner that suits your particular situation. We will certainly lend advice and suggestions if you wish.

Who owns the finished work?
You do. We are paid only to do the job as in a “work for hire” arrangement.
